Easter “Son”-rise

April 4, 2010

“Where is my lord?” cried the Magdalene,
As she viewed the scene within,
His empty tomb; the stone, not in place,
Where she had hoped to lovingly clean
The blood from the face of the man called
Jesus.

She flitted to and fro, unsure at last,
Which way to go, when a voice was heard,
Loud and clear – “Why seek ye the living among the dead?
He is not here.” That was what the voice said.

“Forget your doubts, and be of good cheer,
You have much to do and nought to fear,
Your saviour, Jesus, knows your every need, and
He has risen; He has risen indeed.”
